Agent Marcia Lee is a smart, independent thinker and an all-around ace within the NSA. Of course, that doesn't mean much if your partner is Agent West. Although Lee is constantly being tripped up by the over-eager agent, she doesn't seem to show any negative feelings past minor frustration for him. To any shipper this is proof-positive that they're in love.

While most of Bennet's agents are careful not to ask questions, Lee feels compelled to use her own brain and tactfully brings a fair amount of common sense into her commander's plans. Spurred by an inquisitive nature, Lee began studying Zeta's actions and realized that he didn't fit the bill of a terrorist. After being brutally shot down by Bennet when she suggested the idea of a peaceful (and willful) robot, Lee decided it was safer to keep her opinions to herself. This hasn't stopped her from secretly giving the fugitive team a heads-up, though. After Zeta saved her life in "Taffy Time," cementing her theory of his innocense, Lee let the pair escape with little hesitation.

Two of Lee's major strengths are her sense of duty and her dedication to justice; she makes a good NSA agent because she's loyal to her squadron (especially West, whom she didn't kill out of irritation in Season 1) and because she's committed to doing what's right. However, these two traits clash majorly in Season 2, forcing Lee to make a tough decision about her life. After Bennet flagrantly disobeys his superiors in order to pursue Zeta, Lee loses all respect for the man and offers her immediate resignation. However, a few episodes later we happily find that Lee is still working for the government and still secretly campaigning for Zeta's freedom; she seems to be doing quite well in some sort of SWAT team. Sadly, this kind of shoots down all hopes for a West/Lee relationship on the show- at least there's still fanfiction! ;)
