[FANFICTION]

Funky Town

by Zee's Girl

Ro stepped out of the train. She thought this could be fun. She had no idea why Zee had sent them here but oh well, she wasn’t about to complain. She was getting a vacation hopefully, unless the NSA decided to destroy her vacation. He never said anything about Dr. Selig being around the area of Las Vegas but what the heck right?

Zee offered his hand as he looked up and down the train station. She took it, walking out of the car. "Zee what are we exactly doing here?" she asked unable to with hold her curiosity anymore.

"Bucky said he might be able to assist us in finding Dr. Selig."

"And you believed him?"

"He's never lied to us before, Ro."

"I guess you're right." She sighed holding onto his hand. This was inevitably going to be a long day for sure.

Bucky was leaning against the wall. "On time as usual."

"Bucky what information do you have about Dr. Selig?"

"Patience please. Why don’t we go to my hotel room and we'll talk it over in less open places."

"Why can't you just tell us here?"

"I have my reasons." She glared at the boy before giving up, seeing Zee was falling for it so she might as well just follow since she didn’t have much of a choice. It was already nightfall and perhaps she could see how the Las Vegas strip looked lit up at night. She had always wanted to do that.

Meanwhile in a hotel room down the Las Vegas strip, Agents West, Lee, and Bennet were sitting around waiting for their targets to show up. They soon received a tip from the ground unit that they had spotted the trio.

Bennet thought it was strange considering there was always just two of them. He wondered if this third one was another accomplice. He sat in their federal van waiting in an alley before they spotted them. Zee with his super hearing could hear Bennet give orders.

"Alright don't let them get away this time and no screw ups, understand? Go!"

"Come on."

"What's going on?"

"We've been spotted." Bucky just raised an eyebrow. He never had to deal with the NSA before but he had seen that they had yet to catch the duo. Why were they so worried this time around? Zee, Ro, and Bucky ran down the busy streets of Las Vegas. "We need to find a place to hide and quick."

"No kidding," Bucky said looking around.

"Ro, Bucky, this way." They ducked into the crowd of people. Zee held onto Ro's hand and Ro held on to Bucky so they wouldn’t get separated. They found themselves in some kind of dance club. They were in the backstage kind of area.

Ro walked down the way and found a door leading to a big costume area. She looked at the ridiculous stuff back there. "Hey Bucky, Zee look at this stuff over here."

Ro turned around after she was tapped on the shoulder. "Hey, are you guys like new around here?"

"Um, yeah we are," she said smiling to the young lady.

"Okay, if you want to get out into the club you have to dress in this stuff, alright?"

"Oh, thanks for the tip."

"Yeah any time."

Bucky looked at the clothes in disgust. "Ugh, I can't believe I'm actually doing this." He picked out light tan pants and a low shirt with a cut almost all the way down the middle. Zee scanned a suit that looked like something from Saturday Night Live. Ro found something suitable. A pair of leather pants and a blouse that tied in the middle. She saw a poster with the word Cher. She remembered hearing something about her a long time ago.

They changed out of their clothes hoping they could come back and get them. Ro had found a pair of platform shoes as well. Zee just made his hologram to look like it. Bucky crossed the line there. He wouldn’t wear platform shoes.

Ro walked out to see the floor lighting up in different neon colors. She tried dancing like the rest of them. Bucky and Zee were following her lead.

Meanwhile Agent Lee and West were pointed out to look around for Zeta and his accomplices. They heard a tip that they had been seen in this Seventy's club that was called Club 1979. "West, no joking around."

"Aww come on Lee. Where's your sense of humor?"

"Yeah I'm sure Bennet will think it's really funny when he gets Zeta and orders him to kill you too."

"Aww he wouldn’t do that." He paused for a second. "Would he?"

"Yes West I think he would."

"Well you go that way and I'll go this way."

"Alright. Stay out of trouble." West took out his holomorphic viewers, scanning for Zeta but couldn't find him anywhere in sight.

Zee at the moment was trying to blend in the best he could when he spotted the two NSA agents snooping around. "Ro, we've got company."

"Alright don't do anything. They obviously haven't spotted you yet."

"How about Ro and I take care of one of them and you distract the other."

"Alright be careful."

"Come on how much trouble can one little NSA agent be?" Bucky said, knowing how much of a screw up these two were. Well actually just the red haired one was. Ro followed his lead seeing a group forming around the large platform. They saw West standing in the crowd trying to spot Zeta.

Ro approached him first. "Hey stud."

"You talking to me?" He said pointing to his chest.

"Who else would I be talking to? You're the only stud around here," she said with a very seductive voice. She crawled her fingers up to push his mouth closed to keep him from drooling.

"Hey, do I know you from anywhere?" he asked recognizing her but yet couldn’t put his finger on it. It wasn’t one of his strong points obviously.

"No I don’t think so but my friends like to call me 'The Accomplice.'"

"Hey you're the accomplice."

"Yeah and I'm the kid genius," Bucky said bumping West out to the middle of the circle. West of course tripped over his feet and landed on his face. He stood up not really embarrassed. He had become used to tripping over his feet by now. He had only done it a trillion times.

"I'm okay." He stood up and brushed himself off. Thinking quickly he started to do his best at dancing the disco.

Bucky and Ro started laughing as they high-fived one another. "Wasn't that banned in 2040?"

"What?"

"Bad disco dancers?"

"He wouldn’t be so bad if he wasn’t tripping over his feet."

"I think he's better that way."

"You would." Ro pulled Bucky with her. She found an empty hall. She looked around noticing it was like a museum.

"What is this place?"

"It looks like the history of the Seventy's."

"Did anything good come out of the Seventy's?"

"I'm not sure."

"Hey I remember this movie."

"What?"

"Star Wars. Oh that was such a killer movie for an oldie."

"What was it about?"

"Luke Skywalker saving the universe from his father."

"Oh yeah what was so cool about it?"

"They had this lightsaber that went whoosh, whoosh. That would be something I would like to do." He pretended to be holding a lightsaber.

"You are so weird."

"Oh but it was so awesome. You got to see it sometime."

"I think I'll pass. Come on we need to find Zee." They made it back out to the dance club area. Ro was swaying her hips. Bucky gave a wolf whistle. Ro pursed her lips trying not to smile. But it couldn’t be helped. She laughed before they went weaving their way through the town. She was mocking the moves made by all the dancers.

Not in a million years would she think that she would have fun with Bucky around. They both heard a loud crash. Zee was having a little trouble with Agent Lee. Bucky and Ro ran up to the scene. West finally made it over to his partner.

"Zeta we're bringing you in."

"You've got to be kidding." He whipped out his trusty remote control. Soon three cleaning bots started hitting them with brooms.

"Ouch hey you cant do this! We're government employees!"

"The more the reason to attack you, my dears."

"Alright let's get out of here," Ro said dragging Bucky with her, Zee already ahead of her. He stopped a taxi heading to the nearest airport. Bucky waited 'til they were about to go on the airplane.

"Dr. Selig lives in a house in New Mexico."

"How did you find out?"

"Hacked through the net system. Don't worry, it's from a reliable source."

"Thanks Bucky."

"Aww it was nothing. It was fun today."

"See you later brat."

"Bye." He left on his way back home. Ro and Zee had some where else to look now. They seemed a step closer. Ro would have to place this under the wackiest day yet to happen on their long journey for freedom.
